The modern mastering environment must be the ultimate arbiter of truth. After a career defined by critical listening at the highest levels of the industry, I have refined my workflow into a Phase-Pure Monitoring Environment.
By utilising the Chord DAVE—the gold standard in transparent digital-to-analogue conversion—paired with Audeze LCD-5 reference transducers, I have eliminated the “room” as a physical variable. Traditional studios are subject to acoustic interference and reflections that can “smear” the stereo image. By working within a zero-reflection signal path, I ensure that every micro-dynamic decision is made with absolute certainty.

By anchoring the entire system to a singular, high-resolution clocking reference, the timing and transient integrity of the hardware are imprinted directly onto the digital file. Ste Kerry is a mastering engineer whose work spans a wide range of genres, from metal and alternative rock to pop, electronic, musical theatre, and contemporary classical. His credits include Billboard Number 1 releases, Grammy-nominated projects, and recordings that collectively account for billions of streams worldwide — achievements that reflect both the calibre of the artists he works with and the trust he has earned across the industry.
Ste’s path in audio began in the early 2000s, when he owned and operated a recording studio while also working as a live engineer. As demand for touring work grew, live sound became his primary focus, leading to more than a decade spent on the road, mixing arena shows, outdoor festivals, and high-pressure performances worldwide. That period sharpened his technical instincts, problem-solving ability, and understanding of how music translates in real-world listening environments — skills that would later become central to his mastering approach.
In 2015, he shifted his focus fully toward mastering. Since then, Ste has built a reputation for work that is detailed, musical, and grounded in a deep understanding of both artistic intent and modern listening environments. His credits include artists such as Sleep Token, Evanescence, Lea Salonga, Pixie Lott, Kele (Bloc Party), Charlie Simpson, While She Sleeps, Malevolence, Bury Tomorrow, and Gunship, as well as collaborations with major labels including Universal Music Group, Spinefarm Records, Sony Music, RCA, BMG, and Warner Bros.
