The modern mastering environment must be the ultimate arbiter of truth. After a career defined by critical listening at the highest levels of the industry—and supported by post-graduate research into stereo representation—I have refined my workflow into a Phase-Pure Monitoring Environment.
By utilising the Chord DAVE—the gold standard in transparent digital-to-analogue conversion—paired with Audeze LCD-5 reference transducers, I have eliminated the “room” as a physical variable. This specialised, zero-reflection signal path bypasses the acoustic interference of traditional studios that can “smear” the stereo image, ensuring every micro-dynamic decision is made with absolute certainty.
